Three Ways To Find Money In An Emergency

Collaborative Post

We all know what it can be like in an emergency and we need to find some money to pay an unexpected bill or fine. Sometimes we simply don’t have the cash to hand and have to turn to alternative means in order to pay off our debt.

Here’s a few different ways that you can find money in an emergency – have you ever done any of these before?

Borrow Some Money

Whether you choose to use a direct lender, a company such as Polar Credit, or you choose to borrow from a family member or friend, borrowing is a great way to pay something quickly that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford.

You can usually make a payment arrangement to pay back in affordable installments, something that you wouldn’t be able to do if you had to pay such a large amount outright. Some people have plenty of family and friends that they can ask who will lend them the money but not everybody has that option which is where lenders come in to help you out of a sticky situation.

Do Some Extra Work

Again, this isn’t always available to everyone but to many, it is. Whether it is by doing some overtime at your current job, taking on a new client if you are freelance, getting a second job alongside your main job or even something else, there is plenty of extra work out there for you to do.

Some won’t pay immediately so it is important to bear this in mind when choosing what to do. However there is also plenty of work online you can do such as adhoc admin work, surveys or mystery shopping or dining to help add some pennies and pounds to your bank account.

Sell Some Old Stuff

You would be amazed at the amount of money that we all sit on around our homes. Every household has things they haven’t used in months, maybe even years, that may be put to better use in someone else’s home. Why not go through all of your old stuff, selling the stuff you don’t use online?

Clothes that your kids have grown out always do well on the various online selling platforms as long as they are in good condition. There are also many websites and Facebook groups dedicated to specific things such as certain toys, books or even jewellery. You will be amazed at what trash of yours could potentially be someone else’s treasure and the money some people will pay for some items!

Some of these may seem like obvious suggestions but you would be amazed at how some people panic and forget everything when faced with the prospect of being unable to pay a bill or a fine. We hope these tips have been helpful to you and your situation.

If you have ever been in this situation, what did you do in order to pay off your unexpected expense? Did you try any of the suggestions above?
