love during a Pandemic

How to find local love during a Pandemic this Christmas

Are you currently looking for that special someone? You might think it is trickier than usual during the current climate but we have some solutions!

There’s no doubt about it, this is a post I wouldn’t have imagined writing prior to 2020. This has been the strangest year in my lifetime. The really positive news is, however, that we are nearing the end of the year and 2021 already looks like it’s going to be a lot brighter, happier and sociable than 2020 has been. Lots of people make new year resolutions to find love but there is no need to wait for the new year, why not start looking for love today. Here are some of our best ways to find love local to you during a Pandemic this Christmas season.

Harness the power of your mind…

Firstly, channel some positive thinking. Visualising what you want from life can be extremely powerful. During this current lockdown and restrictive tier system why not take some time to really think about what you would actually like your life to look like. A couple of years ago I gave some serious thought to my top ten things to achieve for the next twelve months. One of the ways to help you to do this is to search for images that represent what you would really like. Print them out or cut them from magazines, or create a virtual vision board using Pinterest. Make sure that each picture you choose really represents what you would like. Once you’ve arranged it and are happy with the result, glue the images down and put your board somewhere you will see it a lot such as your bedroom or in your office. This vision board will help you focus on what you really want and will help you keep it in the forefront of your mind. It actually worked for me!

Think about how scent can help…

It might sound obvious but smelling lovely will definitely boost your chances of finding local love. If you meet someone over the internet, they certainly won’t be able to smell you until you meet in person but when it comes to meeting someone near where you live, good personal hygiene is essential. You may be wondering what are pheromones and whether they might make a positive impact too?

They are a secreted or excreted chemical factor that triggers a social response in members of the same species. They are sometimes described as hormones outside the body, secreting scents to impact behaviour. Phermones can actually be purchased. Isn’t that fascinating?

Bring in the experts…

Finding love is just not as simple as it seems in the movies and, although people tell you it will happen when you least expect it, sometimes you need to bring in some help. Using a dating agency such as this dating agency Lancashire can really help boost your chances. Keeping your search local to where you live is a good idea too, while it’s not entirely necessary, it really does help to make it easier to see each other. You might meet someone local and free via free dating sites Lancashire. It doesn’t have to cost all your disposable income!

Join in…

It can be so hard when you’re single and it feels like most of your friends are not. Try to remember that it’s not all about love, it’s ok to find happiness in what you do each day and to socialise with your friends, together with their partners. You may sometimes feel as though you are a bit of a gooseberry but I promise you, that if the boot was on the other foot, you would still want your friend to come out and have fun with you. Sometimes it may take a bit of extra effort to motivate yourself to leave the house but you will feel better for it. Joining in with others gives us an endorphine boost that we all need at this time of year. So, whether it’s an invitation to a Zoom quiz, a walk with friends or, if you’re lucky enough to live in a tier where pubs and restaurants are open, a meal or drinks, try to accept. Enjoy yourself whenever an opportunity arises.

I am not the most naturally curious person but I have grown to realise the importance of asking people about themselves. If you struggle with this too, spend a little time to think of some key questions that will apply to most people you meet. It can be a great ice breaker if you are able to have the confidence to ask people about themselves, after all, it is a topic everyone will be able to talk about.

Keep the faith…

Whilst it’s not healthy to focus on just one thing, such as finding love, it is good to try and keep a positive mindset especially during wintertime. Although it doesn’t always seem like it, there are lovely people out there and you won’t be single forever. Sometimes it just takes a while, and the journey gets you to the right point in your life to find ‘the one’. It can be a winding path and sometimes it can be lonely but it makes it even more amazing when you meet the one you love. I sometimes look back, with hindsight, and I can see mistakes I’ve made and the lesson they taught me that made me ready to meet the right person. So, enjoy the journey and stay safe!

  1. Have you ever considered about including a little bit
more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all.
However think about if you added some great graphics or
videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your
content is excellent but with images and clips, this blog could
certainly be one of the very best in its niche. Superb blog!
