Four family friendly restaurants to eat out at in Abu Dhabi

Oooh Abu Dhabi – what a wonderful place! I remember the first time we visited. We stayed at a beautiful hotel and basked in the sun all day long, while enjoying some absolutely marvellous meals around this vibrant city.

Of course we did lots of exploring too and generally just really enjoyed staying there. We have been back to Abu Dhabi several times since and always look forward to visiting as we seem to see a different side to each time. With that in mind, we have written about four of our favourite places to eat out at in Abu Dhabi with the kids…

Prego’s Restaurant

I don’t know about you but Italian cuisines is always a hit with my kids! Prego’s Restaurant is located within the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi and offers authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and friendly setting. The restaurant is really appealing to families for it’s child-friendly atmosphere. Look out for dishes called “just like mamma made” – they are bound to be popular with your kids.

There’s a lovely outdoor terrace too with stunning views of the beach and gardens. That said, the indoor seating looks out at floor to ceiling widows giving the space a bright and airy feel.

Fresh flavours, hearty cuisine and genuine hospitality make this Italian restaurant a must-visit for families in Abu Dhabi and for those looking for a relaxed meal in a laid back setting. Choose to visit for lunch or dinner and let us know what you think?

Dino’s Bistro Italiano

Another one of the abu dhabi restaurants which is on our go-to list is Dino’s Bistro Italiano. It is part of the Pearl Rotana capital centre resort and hotel in Abu Dhabi and consistently offers classic Italian dishes using the finest ingredients from all over the world.

The menu features traditional pizza and pasta dishes which you’ll no doubt in enjoy and the restaurant itself is decorated with a modern twist combined with an Italian vibe. There are plenty of cocktail options for the grownups while the children savour the super italian food.

Stock Burger Co.

My two boys adore burgers so Stock Burger Co. is high up on our list too. Priding itself on sourcing its beef exclusively from farms that it can trust, while all other ingredients are also fastidiously sourced, Stock Burger has the feel of an American-style diner, with a neon-lit burger sign and food served on trays with paper inserts.

Expect a range of stacked burgers, along with sides, desserts and milkshakes. Before you get to the main event though, you can pick from a selection of small plates which you can choose to have by yourself or share. If you or a family member happen to not be a fan of burgers, don’t worry – there’s a section on the menu featuring plenty of alternatives too. Try the key lime pie for pudding – you won’t be disappointed!

Benihana Restaurant

My children like rice but it is only in more recent times that they have begun to enjoy Japanese cuisine. Thank goodness they do, as it is one of my absolute favourites too. Benihana Restaurant  serves up a host of exciting and enticing dishes perfect for getting the taste of Asia while dining out.

Located in the Abu Dhabi Beach Rotana resort, the ‘in-the-round’ seating style means that not only can you enjoy the incredible healthy food that is prepared at Benihana, but you also get a front row seat to watch it be cooked and prepared by the highly experienced chefs.

Serving up the likes of gyoza, nigri, sashimi and a host of other fantastic sushi dishes, you could visit twice in a row and still have lots of incredible options to choose from. This is an absolute novelty for the kids and somewhere they always remember!
